Course Overview
This module provides comprehensive training in molecular workflows, from DNA extraction to library preparation and sequencing using Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) and Illumina platforms. Participants will be equipped to generate genomic data crucial for AMR research, outbreak tracking, and epidemiological studies.
Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) Sequencing
Includes ONT-focused library preparation, flow-cell operation, and QC workflow. Prior exposure to basic molecular biology techniques required.
Learning Objectives

Illumina Sequencing
Learning Objectives

- ✅Understand the sequencing-by-synthesis (SBS) principle and how it differs from long-read platforms
- ✅Perform initial data handling including demultiplexing, base-calling, and quality assessment using bioinformatics pipelines
- ✅Apply Illumina sequencing data to microbial genomics, AMR surveillance, and epidemiological investigations
