Surveillance, Characterization, And Antimicrobial Resistance of Travelers’ Diarrhea Pathogens in Selected Health Facilities in Ghana (2025-Present)
Identifying AMR patterns in pathogens causing acute diarrhea in international travelers to improve clinical care.
Status:
Ongoing
Objective
This study focuses on identifying and characterizing the pathogens causing diarrhea among international travelers to Ghana, who often develop acute diarrhea/gastroenteritis due to food- and waterborne pathogens. This project assesses antimicrobial resistance patterns and develops antibiograms to improve clinical care and inform travel medicine practices.
